100% volunteer-run, no-kill ferret rescue serving Ontario since 1996

Our Mission

Ferret Aid Society is a registered Canadian charity dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, and rehoming of ferrets in need. We operate through a network of volunteer foster homes across the Greater Toronto Area.

Our Foster System

We don’t have a physical shelter — every ferret lives in a loving foster home

🏡 Home Environment

Ferrets thrive in home settings where they get individual attention, free-roam time, and socialization.

❤️ Personalized Care

Foster families learn each ferret’s personality, health needs, and quirks to find the perfect match.

🏥 Full Vet Care

All ferrets receive complete veterinary care, vaccinations, and spay/neuter surgery.

🤝 Meet & Greet

Potential adopters visit ferrets in their foster homes for a natural, relaxed introduction.

Our Founder — Randy Belair

In 1996, Randy Belair discovered a tiny, sick ferret — barely surviving — and couldn’t walk away. That ferret, named Hope, became the inspiration for what would grow into Ontario’s most trusted ferret rescue.

Randy built Ferret Aid Society from the ground up, creating a network of foster homes and establishing partnerships with veterinarians across the GTA. Under her leadership, the organization has rescued and rehomed thousands of ferrets.

Today, Randy continues to lead the organization as a registered Canadian charity, driven by the same compassion that started it all.

Harley — Our Beloved Mascot

Harley was more than just a ferret — he was the heart and soul of Ferret Aid Society. With his playful spirit and gentle nature, he became our official mascot and ambassador, helping spread awareness about ferret rescue across Ontario.

Though Harley has crossed the rainbow bridge, his legacy lives on in every ferret we rescue. He taught us that even the smallest creatures can make the biggest impact.

“In loving memory of Harley — forever in our hearts.”
